Synopsis

Director Derek Kwok presents star-studded, action-packed firefighter drama AS THE LIGHTS GO OUT. A huge hit in Hong Kong and mainland China, AS THE LIGHTS GO OUT follows a team of crack firefighters on what turns out to be the longest day of their lives. It's Christmas Eve, and Sam (Nicholas Tse) is on his last day at the job at the firestation before transfering to another position, when mysterious smoke at a wine factory calls him to duty. Accompanying him, his comrade Chill (Shawn Yue) and veteran Major Lee (Simon Yam) rush to the scene. They quickly resolve the situation, but all is not what it seems...

Despite Sam's concern that the wine factory is dangerously close to a natural gas power line, firestation chief Yip (Andy On) calls the team back to the station. Yip is more concerned with appeasing his superiors and presenting a peaceful facade on Christmas Eve, than his team's apprehension. But with the power line leading back to one of Hong Kong's key power stations, Sam's fears may not be unfounded. One thing is clear, where there is smoke there is fire...

Using a combination of incredible cinematography, special effects, and sound effects to create an up-close and in-person look and feel, AS THE LIGHTS GO OUT rivals classics such as BACKDRAFT, and will truly have you on the edge of your seat!
