Director Cédric Klapisch (L'AUBERGE ESPAGNOLE) returns with a tender exploration of the power of family. The story begins with Jean, who left his family and his native Burgundy ten years ago to tour the world. When learning of his father’s imminent death he returns to his childhood home where he, his sister, Juliette, and brother, Jérémie, inherit their family vineyard. All three have their own ideas on how to run the family business, and they soon bicker to the brink of losing it all. But, as the seasons go by, and they work to save the vineyard, they will have to learn to trust each other again and reinvent their relationship.
It is true that the French take two things very seriously -- their films and their vino. BACK TO BURGUNDY is very much a love letter to the latter, while capturing the vineyards of Burgundy as the stunning backdrop for this warm family drama about estranged siblings putting resentments aside to save their family estate.
