What happens when a girl who hates vegetables has a crush on a gay vegetarian guy? Well, though romance is likely not in the cards, delicious food may be!

Maki (Haruna Kawaguchi, CREEPY, HIFF 2016) has it all, except a boyfriend, and skills. Most of all Maki hates vegetables. One day she meets Nagisa (Kento Hayashi, LESSON OF THE EVIL), and is immediately smitten. Problem is Nagisa is gay. And a vegetarian. But if he can’t be her real boyfriend, he can be her fake one! Through a bit of manipulation, Maki convinces Nagisa to be her roommate. He reluctantly agrees, on one condition, Maki must eat everything he cooks for her. Lucky for Maki, Nagisa is a vegetarian masterchef. Through a series delicious meals, both Maki and Nagisa find themselves changing in unexpected ways.

Based on the manga series "Nigakute Amai" by Yumio Kobayashi, BITTERSWEET may be the most delicious and hilarious vegetarian foodie film you’ll ever see.
