Sim Eun-kyeong (MISS GRANNY) stars in one of the funniest Korean comedies of the year! Man-bok (Sim) has a problem. Since childhood, she’s suffered from extreme motion sickness. As a result, she must make the arduous 2-hour journey on foot to school (and back home) everyday. While she struggles academically and socially, over the years she has developed some serious walking skills.
When her overzealous homeroom teacher discovers Man-bok’s plight/secret skill, she is determined to use this to help her find her life’s passion. Before she knows it, Man-bok has been recruited for the school’s ‘race walking’ team (a slightly lesser-known event of the track and field). However, this is much to the chagrin of the race walking team captain, a former running phenom who has already determined that Man-bok will not make the grade. With the odds stacked against her, will Man-bok discover a passion she never knew she had?
A truly delightful film, QUEEN OF WALKING provides the perfect platform for lead actress Shim Eu-Kyung and her unique quirky comedic style. Shim leads the film with her nuanced, satisfyingly funny portrayal of main character Man-bok, while the film offers a crowd-pleasing, enjoyable experience for audiences of all ages.
