RUROUNI KENSHIN, the international bestselling manga (selling over 57 million copies worldwide) and anime series by Nobuhiro Watsuki, makes its live action silver screen debut in Hawaii. Featuring an abundance of impressive action scenes, RUROUNI KENSHIN has grossed more than three billion yen in Japan.

The Tokugawa shogunate’s forces are defeated by a samurai uprising that is led under lone swordsman, Kenshin Himura, signalling the birth of a new era. Once legendary for his killing prowess, Kenshin becomes a wanderer and vows never to kill again. When Kenshin saves the idealistic Kaoru from powerful drug lord Kanryuu Takeda's gangsters, she invites him to stay. Their quiet life together is interrupted when a drug chemist named Megumi Takani escapes from Takeda and seeks shelter in the school. Takeda’s thugs wreck havoc on their peaceful village, and as Rurouni is faced with those who wish to return Japan to times of darkness, he is forced to grapple with what renouncing violence could mean.

RUROUNI KENSHIN is an action-packed, visual feast that needs to be experienced on the big screen. Even better news, the sequel was just greenlit, so we will see the further live-action adventures of this particular ronin.
