Two ghosts who each spawned a dynasty of films – Sadako (THE RING) and Kayako (THE GRUDGE) – are pitted against each other in the most fun J-horror in years! When college students Natsumi and Yuri decide to pull together some old 90’s camcorder footage for a project they purchase an old VCR at a second hand shop. Unbeknownst to them there is an old VHS tape inside. Before they know it they have unwittingly released evil Sadako back into the world. And now have only 2 days to live!

Meanwhile, high school student Suzuka moves in next door to a mysterious abandoned house with an infamous curse. Suzuka feels strangely drawn to the house, but can’t figure out why. When four young elementary school boys go missing one day, Suzuka ventures into the house with drastic consequences, for both her and her family.

Fearing for their lives, Natsumi and Yura contact a renowned psychic for assistance. When the job appears too big for the psychic, two unusual super-psychic experts are brought in. To save the girls, the pair devise an unusual plan to pitt the ghosts against each other and save the day. But will this dangerous plan even work?

An over-the-top spin on the obake genre that combines two of the greatest horror franchises of all time, SADAKO VS. KAYAKO is pure fun. A perfect blend of thrills and comedic relief, the film turns a slightly ridiculous premise into a refreshingly funny and exciting romp that revives both the long lost ghosts and the genre itself.
