The prequel to hit summer film TRAIN TO BUSAN, SEOUL STATION is the craziest zombie thriller this fall! Written and directed by Yeon Sang-ho (TRAIN TO BUSAN, KING OF PIGS), this animated film chronicles the inception of a zombie outbreak in Seoul, told from the perspective of two unlikely heroes – a homeless man and a young runaway girl.
When a homeless man is bitten by a dog, he contracts a mysterious infection that turns him into a mindless bloodthirsty zombie-like creature. The virus quickly spreads first through the homeless community, causing them to flee onto the streets in search of help, but to no avail. Meanwhile, a young runaway teen, unwittingly stumbles onto the horde after having a blowout fight with her boyfriend. When the girl and one of the homeless men find themselves trapped together in a police station filled with the living dead, they must rely on each other in a seemingly futile escape effort that takes them across the streets of Seoul.
Stunning, gritty, and beautifully animated, SEOUL STATION is simultaneously a classic zombie horror film, and a searing commentary on contemporary Korean society. Centering the story on some of Korea’s most marginalized people, director Yeon Sang-ho viscerally dissects prejudice and human fear, bringing the film to a shocking conclusion that will leave you breathless.
