Based in China, Matteo (Luca Barbareschi; The International, Cannibal Holocaust) makes a sizable income exporting (often tainted) food throughout the world. His new operation, White Africa, hinges on selling high volumes of low cost “milk” to the continent with the most babies to feed. While such an endeavor may sound fairly innocuous business-wise, any time big money is at stake, nefarious plots await those who would benefit. When three associates of Matteo are murdered, he turns to local chef Jiazhen (Jingchu Zhang; Protégé, Rush Hour 3) to help protect him. But will she want to keep protecting him if she knows the darker side of his business?
Barbareschi confidently directs and stars in this tale of a man whose morals seem to extend only as far as his bank account. Filled with beautiful cinematography courtesy of Arnaldo Catinari, SOMETHING GOOD sheds light on a business many may not even know exists.
