Synopsis

At 33 years old, Jon Mozo was on top of the world as a renowned surf photographer in Hawaii. This is the journey of a young man who survived a near fatal shark attack and constant dangerous surf, yet chose to face his fears and live passionately. In an instant, his love affair with the ocean resulted in his death while doing what he loved most. A year later, his family found a hidden note that said, 'The ocean has given me so much; one day it will take, and I will give.' This story is about his intense love for life and his family's resolve to continue his legacy

TRANSCEND: THE JON MOZO STORY is a touching tribute to the famed photographer, family man and devout Christian who did what he did out of pure passion and joy. And was able to turn this passion into a career and legacy that helped shape the surf photography field to new levels with his innovative methods. It is a testament to Mozo’s life work and the legacy that he left behind that still resonates — through his children, who are now on their journeys to adulthood, and his many colleagues and ohana that were forever changed by him.
